Baj Alastra- Head Coach

Coach Alastra played high school baseball at Warren High School in California. At Warren HS coach Alastra was an All-League selection his sophomore, junior and senior years.

 

After HS, Coach Alastra attended college and played baseball at Cypress Junior College in Cypress, CA and helped lead the teacm to it's first California State Championship during his freshman year in 1991.

 

After earning his Associate of Arts degree from Cypress College, Coach Alastra transferred to Chapman University in Orange, CA which then was a Division I baseball program, where he led the team in hitting his junior year. That year, the Chapman program became a Division III program prompting him to transfer with a full scholarship to WSU where he played for the legendary Bobo Brayton.

 

He began his coaching career at Downey HS as an assistant varsity coach for 8 years. After the birth of his first daughter, Coach Alastra relocated his family to Auburn in 2005. He then began coaching baseball at AHS. In his first 2 years at AHS, Coach Alastra helped Tim Kuykendall guide the Trojans to 2 straight State Championship appearances at Safeco Field. Coach Alastra is now very excited to be the leader of the Trojan baseball program.

 

Coach Alastra is married to his wife Kimberly, an AHS grad, and has two daughters, Ava and Olivia.
